The thing is, if you want to believe in a conspiracy to make up for your own shortcommings, you will never believe the truth. There will always be "something more" being hidden from you, because the truth doesn't help justify your failings.
That is true of almost any conspiracy theory.
Usually people find it really hard to accept that mundane things do happen.
Some guy in CCP wanted some T2 BPO's, and fiddled the system to get them. When CCP caught him and forced him to give up his character (a full six months before the whole thing came to public attention), he left his stuff with his corp (like many characters do, like enslaver did with his Titan when he became a GM, for example).
The actions of that individual has tainted an entire alliance, and to start with I was really annoyed about the whole thing (as my posts at the time show).
However, I know that I have never encountered anything in my 3 years in BoB which would give an unfair ingame advantage, just a lot of effort, dedication, and team-work.
PS, FE the alliance was total fail, unlike the epic corp from which it spawned :P
Ok so what you're saying is that only BoB has skill and noone else in the entire eve does. This is just funny due to the fact that there are only a handful of original bob flying around now days. 90% of BoB are those who jumped on the bandwagon from other unskilled alliances. So by this rational only those who join BoB gain talent.
Or could it be that Shrike, Dianabolic get their info from GM's and Devs who they are friends with (according to Dianabolic) and are able to use this info strategically. Sort of like the DS 1 incident with a GM making himself a director and snooping around right before BoB's offensive.
Majority of eve's population outside of BoB believe that there was more to CCP's favoritism then just the T20 incident. Some of them have quit EVE over that incident. Just because you're a BoB grunt and are not privy to high level information doesn't mean BoB is not getting an unfair advantage. |
